Connecting to Crypto Tax Calculator

This guide will walk you through the steps to upload Kraken data into Crypto Tax Calculator (CTC) by three methods:
Uploading your transactions allows CTC to calculate your Kraken tax obligation.
On Crypto Tax Calculator:

Log in: Access your account on the Crypto Tax Calculator platform.
Note: If you don’t yet have a Crypto Tax Calculator Account, you can set one up for free here.
Shortcut: To quickly access the integrations page where you can add Kraken to your CTC account, follow this link.

Go to Integrations tab: Navigate to Integrations from the tabs at the top of the page.

Click the Add integrations button.

Search and select Kraken from the available options.

After selecting Kraken, click the Connect to Kraken button.

Set permissions: You will be asked to sign in to your Kraken account.

After signing in to Kraken, your account should now be attached to your CTC account.
Using an API connection is a seamless way to import your Kraken data. Here’s how to set it up on Kraken Pro:

Sign in to your Kraken account and got to Settings.
Shortcut: To quickly access the settings page where you can generate an API key on Kraken, follow this link and skip to step 3.

Under Settings find and select the API tab.

Create a new API key: Click on Create API Key and name your API key.

Set permissions: Select the permissions: Query, Query closed orders & trades and Query ledger entries.

Generate API key: Leave all other permissions and settings as-is and click Generate key. You may be asked to enter your passphrase for security.

Save your keys: Copy the API key and secret key provided and store them in a secure location. You’ll need these for the import process.
How to set up an API connection on Crypto Tax Calculator:

Access your account on the Crypto Tax Calculator platform.

Navigate to Integrations from the tabs at the top of the page.

Click the Add integrations button.

Search and select Kraken from the available options.

Enter the API key and secret key you obtained from Kraken and click Import.

Wait for data upload: The import process may take a few minutes. During this time, you can proceed with importing data from other exchanges/wallets or complete other tasks.
If you prefer or need to use a CSV file, follow these steps on Kraken Pro:

Sign in to your Kraken account.

Navigate to the History tab: You can find this within the right hand menu bar, then click Export.

Select Ledger: For the export type, choose your trading period, check Select All, and click Submit.

After a few moments the CSV download should now be available in a .zip file.

Unzip the file and upload the CSV(s) to Crypto Tax Calculator.
On Crypto Tax Calculator:

Access your account on the Crypto Tax Calculator platform.
